First of all, congratulations for your excellent work. I'm currently moving my website from a static one to Joomla. And one component as yours will be really helpful. However, i noticed one great problem.
If you plan to use a single season, no problems, but if you plan to use more than one season, problems arises. Here is a link to my (Joomla part not yet published) website

This is the link to the french Ligue 1 season 2008-2009. Until now, I entered only to matches per team. If you click on the "Grenoble Foot 38" team, you will have the list of the match days, and the players statistics for this season 2008-2009.

Now if you go to the tab L1 - Saison 2009-2010 in the menu for the next season. On the new table , no problems since no matches occured until now. But if you click on the "Grenoble Foot 38" team in this table you will go this team page. And, in this team , no matches will be listed, this is normal, no matches occured, but for the players tab, all the players will have the statistics of the previous season.

This is a great problem since the team players for a team are not linked to a particular season. Moreover, as you know in these times of transfert between teams. The squad is moving during two period of the year. Currently, you cannot assign a player in a team for the season 2009 and assign him to a different team for the season 2010. If you do it actually, you will lose the player in the previous team and history.
I konw that this is possible to do such as in phpleague and phpcompet but they are not joomla components

The french season of Ligue 1 will begin at the beginning of August. Of course, the fastest you can do it the better :grin: for all of us it will be for evaluating the new version.
I will post later some of the enhancement that could be usefull but i think the most important is to fix this problem of assignment of players to a team for a given season.

i rapidly checked for some of the bugs noted and they seems fixed, excellent. Now, lets gos for the bug i told you.

1/ The stats problem is fixed, they do not follow the player from season to season

But the main problem remains. in fact Currently a player is assigned for "his whole player life" to a single and unique team. I show you an example:
Season 2008-2009 => team Monaco => player Alexandre Licata
during the summer transfert period, the player Alexansdre Licata moved from Monaco to the team Auxerre, so for the next season, we should see
Season 2009-2010 => team Auxerre => player Alexandre Licata

With 1.0.5, if you assign the team Auxerre to the player Licata, you will loose the history of this player for all his previous team.

So if you're using beardev, you can use it for a single tournament, if you make more than one tournament or you move to another season or another tournament with players moving to different teams you may loose all the previous work that has been done


I checked the table of the software phpleague, phpcompet and the tables created by Beardev, and maybe one possibility would be to create an additionnal column called "squad" in the table bl_seasons_team. in this column "squad" you can add players. The addition of the players could be done in the Backend in the tab "team". When you select the teams for a season n, when you select the team it should open a new tab with all the players where you should choose the players assigned to the selected team for the selected seaso or tournament. that's (only an idea).
