Hello everyone,
I've been trying to translate few things in BearLeague 1.0.7,
as I understood from reading the forum, I need to find the file 'en-GB.com_bearleague.ini' and modify it.
But I do not have that file in my language folder?
Does anyone know how I can solve this?
Thanks!
djlo,
in 1.0.7 version we implemented UI froor translations - to translate the FE words you need go to BE -> Components -> BearLeague -> Languages and transklate all the FE words to you language

Thanks John for your reply.
I know there is an option in the BE to translate some words.
But I am using JoomFish for all the translations, so the language depends on what the user selected, in other words, if the user selected the site to be in English -> 'en-GB.com_bearleague.ini' will be used, and if the user selected a different language -> 'xx-XX.com_bearleague.ini' will be used.
is there a way to have Bear League use that kind of language system with
'en-GB.com_bearleague.ini' files?
Thank you.
djlo,
The 'xx-XX.com_bearleague.ini' is implemented in 1.0.8 version, and is already present in 1.0.9 version so if you update your version you have it :)

Eric

Thanks for the quick information Eric.
I will definitely look into upgrading my 1.0.7 BearLeague to 1.0.9.
The only thing I'm worried about is the compatibility with the modules.
In the Downloads page, the module section, most of the modules say - "compatible with BearLeague 1.0.8 only".
So it looks like they wouldn't work if I upgrades to 1.0.9.
Is this correct?
Thanks.

In fact this means that these modules will only work on version 1.0.8 minimum.
No problem for use with 1.0.9

Hi,
I've upgrade from 1.0.7 to 1.0.9.
Where I can find this file?
en-EN.com_bearleague.ini?
I want create an Italian Version
Thanks!
Hi fate,
To translate the public FE of bearleague all is in help file in your BE
Quote:10. Languages
In this section you can create new language file for Front End
To create new language file you need:
* Go to Components -> BearLeague->Languages
* Press New button
* Translate all the words
* Press Save button
To display your translation on the FE make default the language file
To translate the private FE of bearleague you have to edit the file en-GB.com_bearleague.ini wich is present in the zip file of component, replace all words, save it as it-IT.com_bearleague.ini and upload your new file in your joomla language directory ( root>language>it-IT)

Thanks again for your help.
I've upgraded to version 1.0.9 and found the language file that I can change.
But it seems like it is only for the administration back end.
Is there a file like this that will be for the front end?
I cannot work with the translation option that is available in the BearLeague administration panel because I need to use both languages depending on what language the site is in, and if I make a language default, that is the only language that is displayed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I've created this files:
- it-IT.com_bearleague.ini
- it-IT.mod_bl_table.ini
and I put this in /laguage/it-IT
But in the amministration I see only english (menus), and in frontend in "mod_ltable" I see Italian.
Where did I make a mistake?
I tried to change in bearleague.xml the line:
Code:
language:
it-IT.com_bearleague.ini

lucignano,
In complement of John answer, in the "official" version you can translate the private FrontEnd is translatable by ini file . If you want to transalate all the BackEnd, you have the use the build I make for rugby league ( http://beardev.com/component/joobb/topic/318-1.0.9ComponentwithPositiveandNegativeBonuspointsusedforRugbyleague.html )
Alex translate it in Italian, so you just have to install it to have your BE tranlated.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I'm still trying to figure out how to translate the front end when I have my site in 2 languages. Usually, the language of a component is determined by the language of the site and the .ini file in the language folder, is there such a way to do it in BearLeague?
I am not worried about the translation of the back end, I only want the front end to be translated. The way BearLeague deals with translation right now is that we can only choose 1 default language, but the language does not change if the site's language changes.
Is there any kind of solution for this?
Thanks in advance.
